Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Senior Sales Manager will generate orders for groninger’s innovative new machines. Applicants should have demonstrated success in our industries and ideally with our type of specialized fill/ finish machines. You will be a strong advocate for the company in front of customers in the Western part of the US, across groninger’s entire product range. The successful candidate will understand our customers’ business needs and procurement process and will align them with the most competitive groninger solution, building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships and ultimately convincing the client to buy from us. We are looking for a pro-active, organized, self-motivated, efficient personality with experience in managing parallel activities and setting correct priorities. You will receive comprehensive training in the US and at our facilities in Germany and become part of a highly successful, professional, growing team with healthy business ethics and a caring culture.


  • Meet sales targets by successfully managing customer interactions and back-office teams
  • Generate leads through participation in trade shows and conferences, and through your network
  • Develop opportunities through early involvement and solution consulting
  • Own budgetary estimates, technical presentations (supported by technical experts as needed), proposal presentations and contract negotiations (formal proposals are developed by back office teams)
  • Communicate with all levels of the customer organization, from technicians to C-Level executives
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
  • For frequent personal customer interaction, 70% travel is anticipated
  • Present realistic sales forecasts to the management team
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status

Minimal Qualifications:

  • BS/MS degree in engineering, business administration or a related field
  • 7+ years of successful experience as a sales representative or sales manager at least in pharma (ideally also in cosmetics), consistently meeting targets
  • Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars and conferences
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all organization levels
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise
  • Excellent coaching and people management skills
  • Well-organized, friendly, highly reliable and professional
  • Ability to take initiative and follow through
  • Outstanding planning and time management skills and attention to detail
  • Willing to reside in a Western US State
